Detention Division
Adult Detention Officer
Type: Full Time
Salary/Pay Rate: $19.01 / Hr
The Detention Division includes the Detention Center, Transport, and Community Service/Work Release. The Detention Center is a 710-bed facility and serves all law enforcement agencies in Washington County. Transport is responsible for transporting detainees locally and across the country. The Community Service/Work Release Program allows nonviolent offenders to work in the community through government entities and other non-profit programs. Detainees in the program receive extra, time-served credit for their work. The program helps reduce the detention population and helps benefit our community.
911 Communications
9-1-1 Communications Specialists
Type: Full Time
Salary/Pay Rate: $19.96 / Hr
The 911 Communications Center employs a team of specially-trained emergency communications professionals, which includes (1) Communications Director, (3) 911 Communications Specialist Supervisors, and (17) 911 Communications Specialists. This department dispatches for all Washington County Sheriff’s Office personnel, as well as (10) Police Agencies across Washington County (Elm Springs, Tontitown, Johnson, Goshen, Elkins, Greenland, West Fork, Farmington, Prairie Grove, Lincoln).
Enforcement Division
Deputy First Class - Patrol & Court Services
Type: Full Time
Salary/Pay Rate: $20.64 Hr - $23.22 Hr DOE
THIS POSITION REQUIRES EXISTING LAW ENFORCEMENT CERTIFICATION - May be from any state as long as certification is equal to or exceeds (and is accepted by) the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards requirements for a full time certified law enforcement officer in the state of Arkansas.
The Enforcement Division includes Patrol, Court Services, Criminal Investigations, Animal Control, 911 Communications, Civil Process, and Administration/Support. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, established in 1828, patrols the 952 square miles of Washington County. This division also services the seven (7) Circuit Courts of Washington County and provides security for the Washington County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex facilities. As chief enforcement officer of the circuit and chancery courts, the sheriff is charged by the constitution and by statute with the execution of summonses, enforcement of judgments, orders, injunctions, garnishments, attachments, and the making of arrest on warrants issued by the courts.
